We know so little about her. She has emerged onto the big stage so suddenly. Unlike most political stars she has more gravity than charisma. So far, Senator Elizabeth Warren is naming the elephants in the room, at least when it comes to economic issues. She wants to know why Attorney General Eric Holder has made no effort to punish big banks for the crime of the century. She is asking hard questions, and is not satisfied with typical answers.

When Thomas Curry who heads the independent bank regulation within the Treasury Department said there is not need to actually put people on trial, Warren responded:

“There are district attorneys and United States attorneys out there every day squeezing ordinary citizens on sometimes very thin grounds and taking them to trial in order to make an example, as they put it. I’m really concerned that ‘too big to fail’ has become ‘too big for trial,'”

She may turn out to disappoint, but so far she is saying what needs to be said to the crony capitalists who call themselves our government.
