The true history of the U.S. will not be written until we have lost the ability to write it ourselves. Our own narrative of a well meaning but misunderstood and bungling giant has been repeated so many times that few dare to question it here in the States. Outside the U.S. there is a very different history being told. The sun is setting on the American Empire, so the sooner we learn what we have really done to the rest of the world, and rejoin the company of civilized nations, the softer our landing will be. Anyone who truly loves America must be willing to learn of our crimes against humanity and cry out for our nation to return to a submission to international standards. Our nation may have been born out of a dream for freedom, but no nation since World War 2 has done more than the US to crush that same dream for those who live in other nations.
