At 2PM today “United Students Against Sweatshops” will be holding a rally at U.T. to ask the administration to consider workers’ rights and lives when making purchasing decisions. The University has a long standing policy of indifference to the sweatshop conditions that lie behind its polished image. We will hold a rally and then some students have decided to be civilly disobedient, risking arrest, to draw attention to the worker deaths, union busting activities, and lack of transparency that lie behind the University’s policies. Later, we will hold a vigil for any students arrested.
